Additional new features to ClouDNS Failover service

2024-04-10

We are happy to announce significant updates to our Failover service. These updates aim to provide more in-depth and timely information about your network performance.

ICMP Ping Failover - Latency and Packet loss

Our ICMP Ping Failover check now includes two new metrics:

  • Latency - allows you to measure the latency of your failover systems, helping you assess the responsiveness of your network during failover scenarios.
  • Packet Loss - indicates the percentage of packets that are lost during the failover process, giving you an insight into the quality of your network's failover capabilities.

Timing measurement for various Failover checks

For our HTTP/HTTPS, TCP, and UDP failover checks, we have introduced a new metric to display the time required to complete the failover mechanism. The time is displayed for each check in the failover history, offering a better understanding of your service's performance during failover events from different locations.

DNS Failover - Query time

For the DNS failover check, we have added an option to see the query time required to complete the DNS request. This query time is meticulously logged for each failover check and is accessible in the failover history, facilitating a detailed evaluation of your DNS failover responsiveness.
